New Delhi, : A delegation of BJD MPs on Tuesday met Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal at New Delhi and demanded to release the pending food subsidy to Odisha.
They also demanded early evacuation of surplus rice by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) from the state.
The delegation informed that the state’s storage capacity will be overflowing and cannot accommodate the surplus rice.
The BJD delegation also urged the Minister to address the gunny bags shortage issue.
The Union Minister assured to fulfill the demands.
